Class 10 boards in 30 days: a week-by-week study plan for the last month
The last month before the Class 10 boards is not the time to start new chapters. It is the time to practise the paper itself, fix the units that lose you marks, and arrive on exam day calm and on time. This plan is built on what CBSE has published: the 2026-27 sample papers and marking schemes, the curriculum, the 2026 date sheet, and CBSE's notices for students. Every fact links to its document, with page numbers, at the end.
If you have more time, start with our 60-day revision plan; this guide is its last month in more detail.
First: what we know about the 2027 dates
- The 2027 date sheet is not out yet. We checked cbse.gov.in on 21 October 2026: CBSE has published notices about the list of candidates for 2027, but no 2027 date sheet. When it comes, it will be on cbse.gov.in. Ignore any "date sheet" forwarded on WhatsApp until you see it there.
- What 2026 looked like, for planning only. In CBSE's revised Class X date sheet for 2026 (issued 31 December 2025), Mathematics was on Tuesday 17 February, English on Saturday 21 February, Science on Wednesday 25 February, Hindi on Monday 2 March and Social Science on Saturday 7 March. The main papers ran 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. From one of these main papers to the next was 4 or 5 days (3 or 4 free days). The 2027 dates may be different, so re-plan the moment the real date sheet appears.
- Two board exams. Since 2026 there is a main exam and a second exam for improvement. The first exam is compulsory, and a student who misses three or more subjects in it cannot take the second (CBSE notification of 14 February 2026). Plan to do your best in the first one.
Your 30 days at a glance
| Days | Goal | What you do each day |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 7 | Know the paper | One CBSE sample paper section, marked with the marking scheme; fix the mistakes the same day |
| 8 to 14 | Write in the exam slot | A full 3-hour paper every second day, 10:30 to 1:30; the day between, go through every lost mark |
| 15 to 21 | Repair weak units | Two weak units a day, chosen by marks lost, from your own mistake list |
| 22 to 30 | Settle and sharpen | Revise from your notes only, one last timed paper per subject, sleep at your usual time |
That is 7 + 7 + 7 + 9 = 30 days. If the gaps between your papers are long, keep the last subject-specific revision for those gaps (see "Between papers" below).
Days 1 to 7: know the paper
CBSE's 2026-27 sample papers and marking schemes are on cbseacademic.nic.in, subject by subject: the Class X list. They are the closest thing to the real paper that exists. The Maths and Science papers say their design has not changed for 2026-27.
- Each day, do one section of one subject's sample paper under time, then mark it with the marking scheme, point by point.
- The marking scheme gives marks for steps and points, often half a mark each. A right method with a slip in the last line still earns most of the marks, and a right answer with no working can lose them.
- Write every mistake on a single "mistake list" page per subject. That list is what you revise from in week 4.
The Maths paper, section by section: CBSE Class 10 Maths sample paper 2026-27.
Days 8 to 14: write in the exam slot
- Every second day, write a full paper from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, the slot CBSE used for the main papers in 2026. Your brain gets used to doing its best work at that hour.
- Phone in another room, a clock on the table, only the stationery you will be allowed to take in.
- The day between: go through every lost mark. Was it a concept you do not know, a careless slip, or running out of time? Add it to the mistake list.
- Use the official sample paper first, then your school's pre-board papers. Our free timed revision papers are shorter (45 to 60 minutes) and good for practising speed in between, not instead of the real-length paper.
Days 15 to 21: repair the units that cost marks
Spend your time where the marks are. The 2026-27 curriculum gives each unit's share of the 80 theory marks:
- Maths: Algebra 20, Geometry 15, Trigonometry 12, Statistics and Probability 11, Mensuration 10, Number Systems 6, Coordinate Geometry 6 (Maths curriculum, page 3).
- Science: Chemical Substances 25, World of Living 25, Effects of Current 13, Natural Phenomena 12, Natural Resources 5 (Science curriculum, page 4).
Pick the two units each day where your mistake list is longest compared with their marks. Redo the NCERT examples and exercise questions for those units without looking, then do the sample-paper questions on them again.
Do not spend this week on topics that will not be examined. The Science curriculum keeps some topics for classwork only: the periodic classification chapter, the evolution topics, and the electric motor, electromagnetic induction and the generator (Science curriculum, pages 4 to 6). Learn what is examined first.
Chapter guides for some heavy units: Real Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Chemical Reactions and Equations, Electricity.
Days 22 to 30: settle and sharpen
- Revise only from your chapter notes and mistake lists. Starting a new book or a new chapter now mostly adds worry.
- Write one last full timed paper per main subject early in this stretch, then stop writing full papers.
- Practise the diagrams that carry marks (in Science, for example, the eye, the prism, the heart).
- Keep your normal sleeping hours. Staying up late to "cover more" costs more on the day than it gains.
Between papers
In 2026, from one main paper to the next (Maths, English, Science, Hindi, Social Science) was 4 or 5 days, which left 3 or 4 free days in between. A student who did not take Hindi had 9 free days between Science and Social Science, fewer if another of their own papers fell in that window (for example Computer Applications on 27 February, Sanskrit or Arabic on 28 February, or Malayalam, Odia, Assamese or Kannada on 5 March). Once your 2027 date sheet is out, write the gaps into the plan:
- The day before a paper: that subject's mistake list and formulas only, one short timed section, an early night.
- The other days in a gap: the next subject's weakest units, then one sample-paper section.
- After a paper: do not go through every answer with friends. It changes nothing and can upset the next day's revision.
Exam-day rules from CBSE's 2026 notices
These are from CBSE's notices for the 2026 exams. Read the instructions on your 2027 admit card when it arrives; they are the ones that count.
- Reporting time. For the 2026 second Class X exam, CBSE said no candidate would be allowed in after 10:00 am, and told students to plan their travel for traffic and weather.
- What to carry. School uniform, your school identity card and the CBSE admit card. Only the stationery that is allowed.
- No phones or other devices. CBSE's 2026 date sheet and admit-card notice both say communication devices and mobile phones are not allowed inside the exam centre.
- No rumours. Students must not spread rumours or share exam material on WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, X or other platforms. Before the 2026 exams CBSE also warned about fake claims of leaked papers: CBSE called such claims baseless, so believing them only adds stress.
Stress, sleep and help
If you, or someone you know, is thinking about hurting themselves, tell a trusted adult right now; do not wait for a helpline. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112. Tele-MANAS (14416) is also open all day and night. If a student tells you they want to hurt themselves, stay with them and get an adult and medical help at once.
A little nervousness before the boards is normal. If it is getting in the way of eating, sleeping or studying, talk to someone: a parent, a teacher, the school counsellor.
Tele-MANAS, any day of the year. India's national tele-mental-health service, run under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is free and works 24/7 in 20 Indian languages. Call the toll-free numbers 14416 or 1-800-891-4416 to talk to a trained counsellor, who can refer the caller to a specialist if needed. Students and family members can both call.
CBSE's exam-season line. CBSE also runs a free counselling service for Class X and XII examinees, but only in the exam season. In 2026 CBSE announced it would run from 6 January to 1 June, with a toll-free line, 1800-11-8004, giving recorded guidance in Hindi and English, and tele-counselling on weekdays from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. It may not be running when you read this: check cbse.gov.in for the 2027 dates.
This guide is general information, not medical or mental-health advice. It cannot tell how a student is feeling; if you are worried, talk to a qualified person.
Where AI helps in the last month, and where it does not
- Good uses: checking which line of your own working is wrong; quizzing you on definitions one at a time; turning your date sheet and weak units into a daily plan you then shorten.
- Bad uses: asking it for "the important questions for 2027" (nobody outside CBSE knows them); copying its answers instead of writing your own steps, which is exactly what the marking scheme rewards; long chats that feel like study but produce no written work.

- The longer plan: Class 10 boards, a 60-day revision plan.
Where CMDLearn fits
CMDLearn is building an AI tutor for Classes 1 to 10 that explains a step and checks the child's working, but leaves the writing to the child. It is still in development, and no child uses it yet. If you would like to hear when there is something to try, you can join the waitlist.
